(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 5 - The President of the National Chamber
of Italian Fashion Carlo Capasa on Wednesday voiced concern over
potential tariffs while expressing the hope they would not
affect the fashion sector, addressing reporters on the sidelines
of the presentation of Milan Fashion Week.
"Tariffs always concern everybody, but we hope they will not be
introduced on fashion" goods, Capasa noted, adding they had not
affected the sector in the past.
"We have been told by the government that talks are ongoing.
"We hope our sector won't suffer this problem.
"We will understand how to act if there are tariffs", he also
said.
Capasa stressed that "fashion is the second Italian industry"
and if US President Donal Trump "penalizes the second Italian
industry, it's nearly like a hostile declaration.
"I don't' expect such a hostile attack on our second industry so
I am confident", Capasa also told reporters. (ANSA).
