(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 19 - The Senate on Wednesday unanimously gave final approval to a bill setting up an annual two-million euro fund for high schools in 2025, 2026 and 2027 to promote 'Memory Trips' to former Nazi death camps and teach students more about deportations of Italy's Jews.
The measure was approved with 144 votes in favour.
The legislation, which had already ben approved by the Lower House and became definitive on Tuesday, aims to "promote and incentivize" 'Memory Trips' to "Nazi concentration camps for students in the last two years of high school", according to the text, which was drafted by League senator Daisy Pirovano.
It also promotes the "civic conscience of future generations on the extreme suffering endured by the Jewish people during the Holocaust". (ANSA).
