(ANSA) - Rome, September 16 - The seven Italian films
bidding to become Italy's contender to make the list of Oscar
foreign-film candidates were unveiled by film industry
association ANICA Friday.
They are: 'Fuocoammare' by Gianfranco Rosi; 'Gli ultimi
saranno gli ultimi' by Massimiliano Bruno; 'Indivisibili' by
Edoardo De Angelis; 'Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot' by Gabriele
Mainetti; 'Perfetti sconosciuti' by Paolo Genovese; 'Pericle il
nero' by Stefano Mordini; and 'Suburra' by Stefano Sollima.
A selection committee will meet on Monday September 26 to
choose the candidate, ANICA said.
The committee comprises Nicola Borrelli (culture ministry
director-general for cinema), Tilde Corsi (producer), Osvaldo De
Santis (distributor), Piera Detassis (journalist), Enrico
Magrelli (journalist), Francesco Melzi D'Eril (distributor),
Roberto Sessa (producer), Paolo Sorrentino (director), Sandro
Veronesi (writer).
The Oscar awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on
Sunday February 26.
