(ANSA) - Piacenza, October 27 - The Carabinieri police art
squad on Thursday returned a 15th-century manuscript that had
been stolen from a public library in 1985 back to its rightful
owner - the people of the city of Piacenza.
Police recovered the precious book dating back to 1400
after it was put up for auction online, with a starting price of
600 euros.
Three Italian nationals have been identified and cited for
receiving stolen goods.
Carabinieri Colonel Corrado Scattarretico handed the
precious tome back to Piacenza Mayor Paolo Dosi earlier today.
