(ANSA) - Pompeii, January 3 - Pompeii's 'gladiator school'
reopened Thursday after a three-year restoration following a
collapse eight years ago.
The director of the archaeological park of Pompeii, Massimo
Osanna, on Thursday said "collapses in the archaeological digs
of Pompeii are a closed chapter".
"Here is everything we have done and that we now want to make
accessible to everyone", said Osanna.
"Visitors will see what remains of the headquarters of the
association of gladiators of ancient Pompeii.
"The work carried out by a team of restorers enabled them to
piece together the frescoes that had crumbled after collapsing
in November 2010.
"The bright colors, an amphora that emerged during recent
excavation work, show the importance of this building, which
will be open to small groups of visitors every Thursday.
