(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 14 - Italian singer-songwriter Vinicio
Capossela returned to the Expo 2020 Dubai stage for a magical
concert at the weekend, following his previous appearance in
November, with a focus on the Earth, crops and land, in line
with the World Expo's Sustainability subtheme.
Titled 'EX-ponz', the concert referred to the 10-year-old 'Sponz
Fest', an event held annually in Irpinia area of southern Italy.
Performing at the Dubai Millennium Amphitheatre, Caposella drew
from his folkloric heritage, bringing the country's rural areas
into the spotlight.
The Italian artist paid tribute to the music of Irpinia, playing
hits such as Il Ballo di San Vito and Con Una Rosa, and he also
offered a taste of Mexico with Zompa La Rondinella.
The Greek rebetiko interpretation of one of his most famous
songs, Signora Luna, concluded the performance, receiving a
standing ovation from the audience. (ANSA).
