Seriously ill rapper Fedez has surgery

He'll be home soon says wife Chiara Ferragni

(ANSA) - ROME, MAR 23 - Italian rapper Fedez underwent surgery on Tuesday after announcing last week that he was seriously ill, Libero reported Wednesday The 32-year-old did not say so explicitly, but the announcement was taken to amount to a statement that he has some kind of cancer.
    Fedez had his operation at the San Raffaele Hospital in Milan after saying that "Tuesday will be an important day for me, thanks to my wife (influencer and actress Chiara Ferragni) who has been at my side day and night, thanks to my family, my friends who have done all they could to keep my spirits up.
    Thanks to out two stars (children) who manage to create magic without even realizing and to give me the strength to face all this".
    Ferragni, 34, who with Fedez are collectively known as the social media phenomenon 'The Ferragnez', said on Instagram "happy first birthday to our (daughter) Vittoria. We took these photos on Sunday, a few days early, because we knew that today Daddy would be in hospital (but he'll be home soon). We love you madly little potato".
    Ferragni, who has 26.6 million followers, posted a photo of herself, Fedez and their children Leone and Vittoria around a gigantic pink birthday cake.
    Announcing his illness last week, a tearful Fedez said he is seriously ill and will have to "undergo a long path" of recovery.
    Fedez said he loved Ferragni, and their children "more than ever".
    He said: "I'm here to tell you that sadly they have found a health problem, luckily with great promptness, which will lead to a path of recovery.
    "A major path that I'll have to take and which I feel I can recount.
    "Not now, not at this time in which I need to be close to my family, my children.
    "But which I feel I can recount in the future because when I found out what I found out, reading stories of other people comforted me".
    Fedex is credited with being Italy's best-known and most successful rapper. (ANSA).
