(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 12 - U2 frontman Bono told a restaurateur
in Naples Thursday night, when asked if he had any food
allergies, that he was "only allergic to Juventus".
The Dublin-born rocker was in town for the only Italian date of
his Stories of Surrender Tour, at the world's oldest opera
house, the San Carlo in the southern Italian city, on Friday
night.
After arriving at Capodichino Airport where he was met by
revelling fans of newly crowned Serie A champs Napoli who gave
him a scarf he immediately put on, the Irish musician and
singer-songwriter had dinner at an historic restaurant near the
central rail station, Mimì alla Ferrovia, also to celebrate his
63rd birthday with his family.
The guests enjoyed the best of traditional Neapolitan fare after
Bono made everyone laugh with his 'Juventus allergy' quip.
Most Napoli fans are fierce foes of long-dominant northern club
Juve. (ANSA).
