(ANSA) - ROME, MAY 22 - The Turin International Book Fair drew a record crowd over the weekend, organisers said after the five-day event ended Monday.
From Thursday through Monday, they said, the annual event attracted some 215,000 visitors, up from 168,000 last year.
On Saturday alone some 60,000 people visited the fair in the northern Italian city, one of Italy's top cultural events.
Almost 25,000 students took part in the fair, close to pre-pandemic numbers.
Some 80% of tickets were sold online, against 74% last year.
The figures weer announced in the closing press conference by Salone Libro Managing Director Piero Crocenzi. (ANSA).
