(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 11 - Elon Musk said Friday that the fight
he has proposed to Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg will take
place in Italy.
"The fight will be managed by my and Zuck's foundations (not
UFC)," Tesla founder Musk said on his X social-media platform,
formerly known as Twitter, referring to mixed-martial-arts
company Ultimate Fighting Championship.
"Livestream will be on this platform and Meta. Everything in
camera frame will be ancient Rome, so nothing modern at all.
"I spoke to the PM of Italy and Minister of Culture. They have
agreed on an epic location.
"Everything done will pay respect to the past and present of
Italy.
"And all proceeds go to veterans".
There had been talk of the fight taking place at the Colosseum
but Culture Minister Gennaro Sangiuliano said Friday that it
will not happen in Rome.
"I had a long, friendly conversation with Elon Musk,"
Sangiuliano said.
"We spoke about our shared passion for the history of ancient
Rome.
"We are thinking about how to organize a big charity event
evoking history, with full respect and protection for the
places.
"It won't take place in Rome.
"Above all, it is planned for a significant sum, many millions
of euros, to be donated to two important Italian children's
hospitals to strengthen the structures and scientific research
to combat illnesses that affect children". (ANSA).
