(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 15 - Russell Crowe is set to be among the
guest stars of next month's 2024 Sanremo Song Festival,
presenter and artistic director Amadeus announced on Monday.
The Australian actor and gladiator star is also an accomplished
musician.
"He will come to play," Amadeus told the Viva Rai2! TV show.
"He is very well-loved in the blues world, you know.
"He is shooting a film in Australia. He finishes shooting on
February 6, on the 7th he'll come to Sanremo and on the 8th
he'll be on air on Rai1".
The week-long Sanremo festival, which runs February 6-10 this
year, revolves around a best-song competition.
A national institution that inspired the Eurovision Song
Contest, it helped launch the careers of many of Italy's top
music stars, such as Eros Ramazzotti, Laura Pausini and
Maneskin.
The winner gets to represent Italy at Eurovision. (ANSA).
