(ANSA) - ROME, FEB 8 - Rai state broadcaster said Thursday
that it had not made any commercial deal with John Travolta
after the actor appeared at the Sanremo Song Festival wearing a
noted brand of trainers whose logo was not pixellated out.
"With John Travolta there was no agreement of a commercial
nature", said Rai's Prime Time Entertainment Director, Marcello
Ciannamea, replying to a question on the hypothesis of hidden
advertising for the brand of shoes he wore and which was not
obscured.
"Just an editorial agreement. No one noticed the shoes and there
was no desire to take special shots of the feet,' added deputy
director Federica Lentini.
Meanwhile fans of the Saturday Night Fever, Grease and Pulp
Fiction star took to social media to voice their ire over the
way he had been "humiliated" and "embarrassed" by being forced
to do the fad Chicken Dance with artistic director Amadeus and
showman Fiorello.
Travolta, 71, had first led Amadeus in the moves of his iconic
big screen dances before Amadeus and Fiorello took him outside
the Ariston Theatre and taught him the Ballo del Qua Qua, as it
is known in Italian. (ANSA).
