(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 4 - The Commissioner General for Italy at Expo Osaka 2025 Mario Vattani will be a guest of the fifth edition of Phygital Sustainability Expo, the 2024 European institutional summit on sustainability and technological innovation.
Vattani will present the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 Osaka on Wednesday, June 5, at 13:30 local time in Rome.
The presentation will be livestreamed on RaiNews.it and on Today.it.
"The theme of Expo 2025 Osaka is 'Designing Future Society for Our Lives', an invitation to reflect on today's challenges to create tomorrow's world, which will be experienced more by young people", explained Vattani.
"The Italian Pavilion, planned by Mario Cucinella, will be an outpost of the Italian production system in which 'Italian know-how' and the innovation of our creative industries are promoted on Expo's global stage.
"It is worth remembering that in 2023 exports of our fashion products towards eastern Asian countries were worth about 5.5 billion euros, of which nearly one billion in Japan, with a double digit increase on the previous year.
"Made in Italy is a synonym of beauty and well-made, high-quality" products, which are "necessary in order to talk about sustainability", said Vattani.
Expo 2025 Osaka is scheduled to take place in Japan from April 13 until October 13 next year.
Some 160 nations will participate in the event, which is expected to attract about 30 million visitors mainly hailing from Japan and Asian countries.
Phygital Sustainability Expo, an international event dedicated to the sustainable transition of Italian-made products, takes place on June 4 and 5, 2024, in Rome, at the Trajan's Markets of the Imperial Fora.
Partners include the European Parliament and the European Commission, the Italian foreign ministry, the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) and the department for major events, tourism, sport and fashion of the City of Rome. (ANSA).
