(ANSA) - ROME, JUN 21 - Four sculptures by avant-garde great Giò Pomodoro were vandalised at a show at Pietrasanta near Lucca in northern Tuscany on Friday.
The exhibition 'Elementary Signs' by Pomodoro, promoted by the Secci Gallery in collaboration with the Gio' Pomodoro Archive and hosted at the Baptistery of the Cathedral in Pietrasanta, was vandalised by unknown persons who defaced all the works on display.
The works were reportedly damaged with an awl, said gallery owner Eduardo Secci.
Pomodoro died in December 2002 aged 72. He has a brother, Arnaldo, 97, also a sculptor. (ANSA).
