(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 30 - Emotion and great satisfaction have
been expressed at the end of the second stopover of the World
Tour of the Amerigo Vespucci training and sailing ship in Tokyo.
The historic vessel of the Italian Navy, caretaker of the most
ancient naval and maritime traditions, along with its
traditional crew, is also hosting on board 115 first-year
students of the Naval Academy of Livorno, Tuscany.
"An historic stopover that of the Amerigo Vespucci here in
Tokyo, the first time in the history of the ship which is
93-years-old", the Captain of the Amerigo Vespucci Giuseppe Lai
told ANSA shortly before its departure.
"The extremely high expectations of crew members were not
betrayed, on the contrary they went beyond what we hoped for
with a great success of public, welcome and sincere affection",
