(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 27 - Opera and symphony workers including
singers, musicians and other staff on Friday said they would
stage strikes at the premieres of every coming production
starting in November to protest the failure to validate a
national contract signed November 30 last year.
The sector branches of the Big Three trade union federations,
CGIL, CISL and UIL, recalled that "the contract expired about
twenty-one years ago and the workers, despite their high
technical, administrative and artistic professionalism, receive
wages that have become unfair".
