(ANSA) - ROME, SEP 29 - Much-loved Italian theatre actor
Glauco Mauri has died, his theatre company Mauri Sturno
confirmed on Sunday.
Mauri would have turned 94 on October 1.
The actor and director had founded the theatre company in 1961
with Roberto Sturno, who passed away in 2023.
Born in Pesaro in 1930, Mauri throughout a 70-year-long career
acted in plays by Shakespeare, Molière, Pirandello, Dostoevskij
and Goldoni.
He was originally scheduled to star in the play De Profundis by
Oscar Wilde at the Vascello Theatre in Rome this week but the
performance was cancelled because the actor was unwell. (ANSA).
