(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 7 - Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio's LMDV Capital investment group has bought the Twig luxury hospitality group from Flavio Briatore, LMDV said Friday night.
Leonardo Maria is the son of the late Luxottica eyewear king and sometime richest Italian Leonardo Del Vecchio, who died in June 2022 aged 87.
LMDV Capital, the family office headed by Leonardo Maria Del Vecchio, through Triple Sea Food, said it had signed an agreement for the acquisition of the Twiga brand and 4 locations of the Majestas Group, headed by former F1 boss Briatore.
This gives birth to an Italian leader in luxury hospitality with iconic brands, a turnover of 50 million and 600 people.
Twiga, a historic brand of the Majestas group, was born in 2000 in the chic Versilia Tuscan playground for the rich and then grew and established itself internationally as an icon of luxury hospitality: a "solid and highly profitable brand, supported by the commitment of 360 people", said LMDV.
