(ANSA) - ROME, DEC 20 - The average Italian family will spend
115 euros on food this Christmas, according to a study by
farmers association Coldiretti and market-research institute
Ixe' that was released on Wednesday.
The report said this was up by 10% on Christmas 2022, with
people increasing spending for the first time in three years.
Italians traditionally have a seafood supper on Christmas Eve,
and tortellini with broth and roast meat on Christmas Day.
It is estimated that Italians will spend a total of over 10
billion euros in food and drink over Christmas and New Year.
"We ask you to support the consumption of Made in Italy products
over the festive season to help the economy, jobs and our
regions in a moment of difficulty," said Coldiretti President
Ettore Prandini. (ANSA).
