Sorbillo hosts Bezos to mark Pizza Day

(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 17 - Top Italian pizza chef Gino Sorbillo on Monday hosted Amazon boss Jeff Bezos in his iconic pizzeria in central Milan on Monday to mark Wednesday's World Pizza Day, the Naples-born entrepreneur said, revealing a visit that had been kept top secret for security reasons.
    "To have at my table to taste a traditional Neapolitan pizza Jeff Bezos, owner of Amazon, with is family and bodyguards, is one of the greatest satisfactions of my life," said Sorbillo.
    "I couldn't have celebrated Pizza Day any better".
    The Milanese eatery in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, called Gino Sorbillo Lievito Madre al Duomo, offers the same range of traditional Naples pizza as Sorbillo's historic mother pizzeria in his home town, in Naples' Via Tribunali.
    "Bezos ate a margherita with buffalo mozzarella with burrata added while the others had various choices including quattro formaggi, potato and sausage, and ham and mushrooms, washed down with a fine Amarone.
    "Bezos said he'd come back, and left a nice tip for the waiters". (ANSA).
