(ANSA) - ROME, JAN 30 - The first Italian insect flour plant
has been set up in the eastern Marche region despite opposition
from Farm Minister Francesco Lollobrigida.
The company, Nutrinsect, based at Montecassiano, in the province
of Macerata, told ANSA through CEO Josè Francesco Cianni that "a
new page in the history of food has been opened".
Cianni invited the minister, who has moved to ban insect flour
in Italy, to "come and see for himself how healthy and
nutritious it is". (ANSA).
