(ANSA) - ROME, JUL 26 - A decision to limit access to an iconic Sardinian beach that was a backdrop to Lina Wertmuller's 1974 classic Swept Away has spurred a clash between the two nearest mayors.
The famed and beautiful Cala Luna beach, which is only accessible by sea, will have a 600-person limit from next month, the mayor of nearby Dorgali, Angela Testone, has said.
Another local mayor, Baunei's Stefano Monni, is upset that the decision was taken solely by Testone, saying "Cala Luna is ours too".
Tourist and boat operators are also unhappy with the decision, amid a summer season that is struggling to take off. (ANSA).
