(ANSA) - ROME, OCT 2 - Tourism flows in Italy will fall by 2.5% in 2024, polling agency Demoskopika said Wednesday, with Italian tourists more sharply down than foreign ones and prices weighing heavily on the results.
Some 130.3 million arrivals and 445.3 million presences are expected by the end of the year, with a decrease of 2.5% and 0.4% respectively compared to 2023, marked by 133.6 million arrivals and 447.2 million overnight stays, said the research agency in a preview seen by ANSA.
The share of Italians compared to the foreign market weighs most: 63 million (-4.5%) with 208 million overnight stays (-2.5%).
For foreigners (51.8% of the total) arrivals were stable (-0.6%) and presences increased (1.4%). (ANSA).
