(ANSA) - ROME, NOV 13 - Airbnb says it will offer a free
gladiator experience to anyone interested in following the
footsteps of Russell Crowe and his ancient models from the
bowels of the Colosseum up onto the killing floor of Rome's
great arena.
All the brave souls wishing to get an authentic taste of
gladiatorial combat need apply on airbnb.
The lucky ones who get into the scheme will be given the outfits
of all the types of gladiators, from the Thracians to the
mirmillions, provocators and net-and-trident-wielding retiari,
and tog up in the hypogeum under the Colosseum before striding
up through its maze of tunnels like Crowe's character in
Gladiator, the 'Spaniard' Maximus Decimus Meridius.
Airbnb says its booking platform is also going to be "involved
