(ANSA) - ZAGABRIA, 11 GIU - The Italian ambassador to Croatia, Paolo Trichilo, visited the Italian communities of Labin and Raša, in Istria, emphasising the historical ties with these regions, and at the same time the importance of Italian investments. In Labin, the ambassador met the mayor Valter Glavicic and visited a small theatre that was recently renovated with a partial contribution from the Italian government. Later, in the nearby town of Raša, he paid homage to the 'Alma Mater Dolorosa' memorial bell from the Agnone foundry, which commemorates the 185 miners who died in the tragedy of 28 February 1940. In the nearby industrial area, Ambassador Trichilo visited two plants that were the result of Italian investments - the plant of the companies Danieli-Systec srl, which is active in the Industrial Automation and Process Control sector, and the headquarters of Bibitech Labin srl, which produces accessories for coffee machines and vending machines. Ambassador Trichilo's mission ended at the port of Labin, with a visit to the tourist resort of the company 'Maslinica', owned by the Italian families Gentilini and Horstmann.
