'Strengthening Italy-Tunisia collaboration in the field of archaeology'

(ANSA) - TUNISI, 15 GIU - The Italian ambassador to Tunisia, Alessandro Prunas, visited the excavations of the archaeological mission 'Carthage: the city and its necropolises', conducted by a group of researchers from Rome's La Sapienza University, in collaboration with the Tunisian National Heritage Institute. This was announced on X by the Italian Embassy in Tunis, emphasising how important it is to "strengthen Italy-Tunisia collaboration in the archaeological field in order to preserve the heritage of humanity". There are 17 Italian archaeological missions in Tunisia supported by the Farnesina, making Italy the leading country in terms of the number of archaeological missions in the area.
