Melbourne honours Elisabetta Barberio

(ANSA) - ROMA, 19 GIU - The Consul General in Melbourne, Hanna Pappalardo, on behalf of the Ambassador of Italy in Camberra, Paolo Crudele, presented the honour of Knight of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic. The title went to Elisabetta Barberio, Director of the Centre of Excellence for Dark Matter and Particle Physics at the University of Melbourne. Professor Barberio was honoured for her prestigious international career and outstanding achievements in the study of dark matter particle physics, in the promotion of scientific collaboration between Italy and Australia, and for her role in supporting women's participation in science and technology disciplines.
