A course on disarmament and non-proliferation in Zagreb

(ANSA) - ZAGABRIA, 20 GIU - The two-day 'Course on Non-Proliferation, Arms Control and Disarmament', organised by RACVIAC - Centre for Security Cooperation for South-East Europe in partnership with the Istituto Affari Internazionali (IAI), represented by Ettore Greco, Executive Vice President and Head of the Multilateralism and Global Governance Programme, took place in Zagreb. Greco pointed out that IAI, as a member of the EU Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Consortium (EUNPDC), a project created by the EU Council, is strongly committed to establishing cooperative links with institutions such as RACVIAC that play a key role in promoting strategic thinking through a range of training activities.
    The course, conducted by lecturers and representatives of European think-tanks and universities such as IAI, the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) and Ludovika - University of Public Service in Budapest, was attended by students, researchers, administrators and military personnel from south-eastern European countries. The proceedings were opened by the Director of RACVIAC, Romanian Amb. Grigorie, with Italian Ambassador to Croatia Trichilo in attendance. Italy is an associate member of RACVIAC.
