Italian companies awarded Panda d'oro in Shanghai

2024 edition of the Gala awards, Ambrosetti ambassador present

(ANSA) - ROMA, 20 GIU - The annual 'Golden Panda' Gala awards organised by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in China took place in Shanghai. It is one of the most important events for the Italian business community in the country, dedicated this year to the celebration of the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's death. During the evening, prizes were awarded in ten different categories, including five Golden Pandas. The event was held at the W Hotel in Shanghai in the presence of Ambassador Massimo Ambrosetti, who announced the exhibition on Marco Polo's 'Journey of Knowledge: Marco Polo's 'Il Milione' and its Legacy between East and West' which will open at the end of July at the the World Art Museum in Beijing.
    Among the award-winning companies Intesa Sanpaolo, Jas, Goglio Tianjin and Omlog won the Service Provider Award for their support to Italian companies in China. In the Destination Italy Award category, Mammamia! and Technoalpin won the 2023 Award for their promotion of Italy as a tourist, sports and cultural destination. Campari, Ferrero and Good Italy triumphed in the Italian Taste Award category as ambassadors of Italian food and wine excellence in the Chinese market. This award was followed by the Italian Excellence Award won by Alfa Romeo, Natuzzi and New Crazy Colors who were the most effective companies in representing the excellence of Made in Italy in the Luxury, Fashion, Lifestyle, Design and Retail sectors. The Panda D'Oro 2024 Award, dedicated to the Italian companies that have invested the most in the Chinese market, was presented to Piovan, UFI, and Zoppas, while the Panda D'Oro 2024 Award for major group investments was presented to ENI and Grimaldi.
    The event was sponsored by the Italian Embassy in Beijing and the Consulate General of Italy in Shanghai, and was attended by, among others, the Consul General of Italy in Shanghai, Tiziana D'Angelo,
