(ANSA) - CITTÀ DEL MESSICO, 24 GIU - The Italian Navy training ship Amerigo Vespucci has left Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, after a successful five-day visit that began on Tuesday 18 June, as part of the celebrations of the 150th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Latin American country and Italy. Representatives of the local port system administration greeted the sailing ship, known internationally as 'the most beautiful in the world'.
During its stay in port, the vessel welcomed 11,140 visitors who had the opportunity to visit it, admire its interior - including the main deck and control cabins - and attend lectures and crew demonstrations on navigation techniques.
The Vespucci is now heading for Los Angeles, USA, where it will stop from 2 to 8 July before starting its Pacific Ocean crossing to Honolulu.
