7.2 million euro from Italy to Ethiopia for mental health services

(ANSA) - ROMA, 25 GIU - The Ambassador of Italy to Ethiopia, Agostino Palese, together with the State Minister of Finance, Semereta Sewasew, have signed the agreement for the strengthening of services in response to gender-based violence and mental health support in Ethiopia.
    With this agreement, Italy pledges to support the Ethiopian health sector in these specific fields through a bilateral contribution of EUR 4. 2 million to which is added a component dedicated to Civil Society Organisations of EUR 2.5 million for a total of EUR 7.2 million. These resources will be allocated to the implementation of interventions in the regions of Tigre, Amahra, Afar and in the capital Addis Ababa. The signing of the agreement confirms Italy's commitment to supporting the country's development.
