(ANSA) - BRATISLAVA, 28 GIU - On 26 June, the Italian Ambassador to Slovakia, Catherine Flumiani, visited the Constantine Philosopher's University in Nitra to attend a ceremony at which the Rector Libor Vozár presented her with the University Medal in recognition of the important support provided by the Italian Embassy in Bratislava for the teaching of Italian language and culture at the university, including through financial contributions from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. This was reported in a statement issued by the embassy today. The recognition also went to the ambassador's personal commitment to promoting Italian language study opportunities among secondary schools in the region as part of the degree courses offered by the university. The ceremony was also attended by the Bishop of Nitra, Mgr. Viliam Judák. The ambassador expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the rector for this recognition, which bears witness to the fruitful cooperation between the embassy and the university, one of the main university centres active in the promotion of the Italian language outside the capital. The ambassador also congratulated the teaching staff committed to giving continuity to the project of teaching Italian language and culture at the university.
