(ANSA) - ZAGABRIA, 30 GIU - On the occasion of the traditional Dubrovnik Forum, an important annual international event attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Antonio Tajani, the Italian Ambassador to Croatia Paolo Trichilo paid a visit to the capital city of the Dubrovnik-Neretva region. Assisted by the Honorary Consul, Cav. Frano Bongi, the Ambassador held separate meetings with the President of the region, Prof. Nikola Dobroslavić, and the Deputy Mayor, Jelka Tepšić. The meetings revealed the significant cooperation underway on both an economic and cultural level, also thanks to the recent twinning with Sorrento and the INTERREG Italy-Croatia initiatives, including Adrjoroutes, where 8 ports (5 Italian and 3 Croatian, including that of Dubrovnik) collaborate.
At the port of Dubrovnik, the Ambassador then visited AIDA Blu, a cruise ship operated by AIDA Cruises, a cruise company of the Costa Crociere group, whose entire fleet, comprising a total of 11 ships in service, flies the Italian flag and is registered in Genoa. After a meeting with some Italian entrepreneurs, Ambassador Trichilo later visited the Department of Conservation and Restoration of the University of Dubrovnik, which has a significant cooperation with Italy, including a double degree with the University of Palermo, and the Inter-University Centre, an independent institute of advanced studies, founded and supported by its international network of partner universities, among which for Italy are the Universities of Rome La Sapienza and Tor Vergata, Turin, Trieste and Salento.
