Amb. Catani meets Estonian Climate Minister

(ANSA) - ROMA, 02 LUG - The Italian Ambassador to Estonia, Stefano Catani, met in Tallinn with Climate Minister Kristen Michal. The focus of the meeting was cooperation between Italy and Estonia in the fields of environmental protection, environmentally sustainable port management, and the Rail Baltica project. This involves the construction of an electric railway linking Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Finland (the latter section by ferry). The aim is to provide a passenger and freight transport service between the countries involved and to improve rail connections between Central and Northern Europe. The high-speed rail link from Tallinn to the Lithuanian-Polish border should be completed by 2026.
