Italy guest at Balaton wine & gourmet fair

(ANSA) - ROMA, 03 LUG - Italy is the guest country at the 2024 edition of the Balaton wine & gourmet fair in Veszprém, Hungary, from 6 September. More than 50 restaurants and wine cellars in the Balaton region will offer Italian culinary specialities, but there will also be cultural events.
    Three of the events will be an evocation of the atmosphere of the Italian dolce vita of the 1950s and 1960s with music, scooters, and the Italian bar tradition of bitters and aperitifs of the dolce vita. During the three days of the fair, there will be round tables on climate change and its effects on wine production, but also the role of women in winemaking and wine culture will be discussed.
    The presentation of the fair was attended by the Italian Ambassador to Budapest, Manuel Jacoangeli, who assured a programme full of events and flavours, including food prepared by starred chefs.
