In Sofia closing ceremony Moyse 2024 Flute Competition

(ANSA) - SOFIA, 08 LUG - In the presence of the Ambassador of Italy in Sofia, Giuseppina Zarra, the concert of the winners of the International Flute Competition MOYSE 2024, organised by the Embassy of Italy in Bulgaria, the Italian Cultural Institute in Sofia and the New Bulgarian University (NBU), with the support of Confindustria Bulgaria, took place on 2 July at the 'UniArt' Gallery of the New Bulgarian University (NBU). The competition is created by Luisa Sello, Professor for the PhD in Flute at the NBU, and focuses on the representative figures of world flute-making, Marcel and Louis Moyse.
    The evening, which was opened by Ambassador Zarra and Prof. Sello, saw the presentation of 21 prizes divided into categories: A (up to 13 years) A1 (up to 17 years) B (up to 23 years) C (up to 33 years). The winners were chosen by the jury formed by maestros Janos Balint, Tadeu Coelho, Guoliang Han, Luisa Sello and Matthias Ziegler, all internationally renowned concert performers and teachers. This year, more than 90 musicians from over 29 countries from all over the world took part in the competition: Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, China, Colombia, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Iceland, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Japan, Luxembourg, Poland, Romania, Spain, Slovenia, Switzerland, Taiwan, the Netherlands, England, USA, Venezuela, Vietnam.
    The Head of the Department of Music, Prof. Milena Shushulova, also attended the award ceremony and the winners' concert. Representatives of the sponsors were also present: the company Kuminiano Fruit - one of the world's leading companies in the processing of industrial cherries; the company Christian of Roma - a leader in the distribution of hair products, cosmetics and salon equipment; the company GTT - the exclusive representative of Italian indoor and outdoor brands, Christian Bach for Miyazawa Flutes Europe, Emil Gatev for the House of Music 'Gatev & Co', Serena Klemm for the Conrad Klemm Association, Christine Moulton for the Moyse Society USA.
