(ANSA) - SKOPJE, 14 LUG - The Italian Ambassador to North Macedonia Andrea Silvestri attended the concert of the renowned violinist and conductor Julian Rachlin, with whom the 64th edition of the Ohrid Summer Festival was opened on Friday evening.
Thanks to the festival's traditional cooperation with the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade, this year's programme will once again feature the great Italian musical tradition with a concert by the Roman ensemble 'Mare Nostrum', which will perform on 20 July in the spectacular setting of the Church of St Sophia in Ohrid, starting at 9 pm.
The ensemble 'Mare Nostrum', founded by conductor and artistic director Andrea de Carlo, is considered one of the most original Baroque ensembles dedicated to the performance of classical pieces from the 17th and 18th centuries, with a particular affinity for Italian composers and, in particular, the works of Alessandro Stradella.
