Amb. to Zimbabwe congratulates on Africa rugby victory

(ANSA) - ROMA, 29 LUG - The Zimbabwean team has won the African Rugby Cup 2024 and the Italian Embassy in Harare congratulates them: 'Hard work and determination have showcased the strength of African rugby on the world stage,' it wrote in a post on X.
    The continental tournament started on 20 July and ended yesterday in Kampala, Uganda. The Zimbabwe team scored four tries without conceding any. "This is a dream come true for every player and staff member. We dedicate this victory to the millions of Zimbabweans who supported us during our journey," said Sables captain Hilton Mudariki.
    The Rugby Africa Cup is the African 15-a-side rugby championship organised by Rugby Afrique. The tournament was first held in 2000 and is played on an annual basis.
