Italy and Panama strengthen health collaboration

(ANSA) - PANAMA, 05 SET - The Italian Ambassador to Panama, Fabrizio Nicoletti, met with the Panamanian Minister of Health, Fernando Boyd Galindo, in office since July. During the meeting, the historic collaboration between Italy and Panama in the medical and health fields was reviewed, recalling that many Panamanian doctors were trained in Italy and the current joint efforts in the field of biotechnology, as well as in the exchange of knowledge to combat tropical diseases.
    Galindo confirmed that the government led by President José Raul Mulino attaches priority importance to the quantitative and qualitative strengthening of health services for the entire population and their widespread distribution throughout the country. According to the minister, Panama is also increasingly called upon to play a hub role in the Central American region, including in the field of medical and health research.
