(ANSA) - PARIGI, 16 SET - Changing of the guard at the Consulate General of Italy in Paris. After Irene Castagnoli's term of office came to an end, the new Consul General of Italy, Jacopo Albergoni, officially takes up his post on the banks of the Seine. "In taking on the duties of Consul General in Paris with pride and a great sense of duty," wrote the high diplomat in a message addressed to his compatriots, "I would like to extend my warmest greetings to you. At the same time, I thank my predecessor, my colleague Irene Castagnoli, for her valuable work. My goal, together with the extraordinary team of the Consulate General, is to offer services that are increasingly efficient and attentive to your needs, in the knowledge that behind our work are the needs and aspirations of each and every one of you'. "Our community abroad," continues Albegoni in the text published on the Consulate's website, "is a heritage of inestimable value and pride and a real strong point in the relations between Italy and France, which are deepening every day, in the spirit of the Quirinale Treaty. Mr. Albergoni, who can boast a profound knowledge of France, as well as of the French language and culture, therefore says he is 'enthusiastic about carrying out this ambitious mission together with you, my Italian and French friends. Your support, your suggestions and your cooperation,' the diplomat concluded on the day of his inauguration in Paris, 'will be a fundamental resource for continuing to enrich the exceptional historical ties between our two beautiful countries and their respective communities.
