Cooperation between Italy and Tanzania for the blue economy

(ANSA) - NAIROBI, 17 SET - The Italian Ambassador to Tanzania, Giuseppe Coppola, met in Dar es Salaam with the Tanzanian Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Abdallah Hamis Ulega, for an exchange of ideas on cooperation between Italy and Tanzania in the areas of his competence.
    Minister Ulega called for a greater presence of Italian investments, to strengthen Tanzanian capacities in this area and encourage sustainable management of the country's substantial resources. The conversation also examined the potential for bilateral collaboration in the blue economy sector.
    Ambassador Coppola confirmed Italy's interest in strengthening relations in these sectors, in which Italy can boast considerable expertise, and emphasised the opportunities in the blue economy arising also from the significant Italian presence in Zanzibar.
