Italian Ambassador in Helsinki receives the press

In-residence meeting with members of the International Press Centre

(ANSA) - HELSINKI, 17 SET - Yesterday, the Italian Ambassador to Finland, Sergio Pagano, welcomed a representative of the Helsinki International Press Club, an organisation that brings together some 4,000 journalists and media and information professionals working in Helsinki, to the Residence.
    The meeting was opened with an address of greeting by Ambassador Pagano. Afterwards, Club President Toivo Haimi expressed his appreciation for the invitation and emphasised the value of such initiatives for media professionals.
    The event represented an important opportunity to consolidate the dialogue between the Embassy and the Finnish journalistic community and to discuss topical issues relating to bilateral relations between Italy and Finland, ranging from economic and cultural cooperation to future prospects for collaboration in the fields of environmental sustainability, renewable energy and technological innovation.
    Ambassador Pagano stressed the importance of open and effective communication with the local media, emphasising the essential role of the press in promoting knowledge and cooperation between the two countries. The members of the Helsinki International Press Club expressed great appreciation for the welcome and openness to dialogue, contributing to a cordial and constructive environment. The meeting ended on a positive note, confirming the importance of such moments of confrontation to further consolidate Italian-Finnish relations.
