(ANSA) - ROMA, 18 SET - The Consul of Italy in Perth, Sergio Federico Nicolaci, participated in the initiative to celebrate 50 years of the Italian Club Fremantle, the cultural reference centre of the Italian community in Australia. The consul recalled how the club 'has been a real home away from home for many Italians. Over the past 50 years, it has represented a place where our traditions, culture and language have been preserved and passed on, keeping the link with the motherland alive'. 'This place,' he added, 'represents a fundamental reference point for our community, a place where not only memories are kept, but also the values and traditions that deeply bind us to Italy'. The consul also wanted to express his special thanks to President Fred Calginari and all those who, with their commitment and volunteer work, have contributed to the success of this institution over the past decades. "Thanks to you,' he concluded, 'the Italian Club Fremantle continues to be a beacon of Italianism and a meeting point for our community.
