(ANSA) - BELGRADO, 19 SET - The 9th edition of the Italian-Serbian Film Festival (19-23 September), conceived and directed by Gabriella Carlucci, was inaugurated today with the presentation press conference hosted by the Italian Embassy in Belgrade. The festival promotes contemporary works of Italian and Serbian cinema and offers an opportunity for professionals and operators in the sector to meet.
The Festival is part of a wide-ranging effort to promote Italian cinema in Serbia. An effort that last week saw the presentation of a review for the centenary of Marcello Mastroianni's birth, in these days can count on the Days of Italian Cinema in Subotica, in October it will be enriched by a tribute to Vittorio De Sica, and in December it will culminate in the traditional Made in Italy Film Festival.
Presenting the festival, the Italian Ambassador to Serbia, Luca Gori, emphasised that "the Italian-Serbian Film Festival is an appointment that has long contributed to promoting cultural exchange between Rome and Belgrade, even more so today in light of the recent entry into force of the film co-production agreement between Italy and Serbia".
