Tajani, sport is part of the democracy of growth

(ANSA) - NEW YORK, 22 SET - "Sport is central to the Government's action and is a fundamental element of the diplomacy of growth. The Day of Italian Sport in the World, which I inaugurated last week, makes it possible to tell the story of Italian excellence, districts and industries in the sector, while at the same time enhancing the value of sport as an instrument of integration and cohesion of Italian communities abroad'. This was said by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, opening the event 'Sport Made in Italy: a tool for growth' at the Consulate General of Italy in New York, also attended by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola. The initiative in the United States also aims to attract American investment in the Italian sports sector. The event, organised by the Consulate General of Italy in New York in collaboration with the Lega Serie A, the NBA Players' Association, the Italian Baseball Federation, and Coni USA, was divided into three sessions, respectively dedicated to football, basketball, and baseball, with a focus on enhancing sport as a tool for growth. Also participating were personalities from the worlds of sport (including Alessandro del Piero and Danilo Gallinari) and business (American owners of Italian football clubs) and the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Mariangela Zappia.
