Ambassador Flumiani at the bilingual Italian-Slovak high school

An oleander symbolises collaboration

(ANSA) - PRAGA, 23 SET - The Italian Ambassador to Slovakia Catherine Flumiani paid a farewell visit today to the Liceo Ladislava Saru in Bratislava, where an Italian-Slovak bilingual section attended by 197 students has been active since 1991.
    The ambassador met the high school headmaster Prof. Eva Ihringová, the head of the bilingual section Prof. Iveta Holubcová, the teachers at the section including tenured teachers sent by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the students of the bilingual section. Flumiani," reads a note from the embassy, "wished to express his heartfelt thanks to the heads and teachers of the bilingual section for their significant contribution to the dissemination of the Italian language and culture among the younger generation, highlighting the fundamental role of education in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and expressing his conviction that the Liceo Saru will continue to represent a point of reference for the teaching of Italian in Slovakia.
    During the meeting, the numerous activities carried out in cooperation with the embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute in Bratislava were recalled, particularly in the framework of the Italian Language Week in the World. At the end of the meeting, the ambassador symbolically planted an oleander tree in the school garden in memory of the fruitful cooperation during her mission to Bratislava.
