(ANSA) - ISTANBUL, 25 SET - The Italian Embassy in Turkey once again took part in the 'Road to Culture' (Kultur Yolu) initiative, the Turkish government's largest cultural event, promoting an exhibition featuring the works of Italian, Austrian and Turkish artists. Yesterday evening, in the exhibition spaces of the Cermodern, a contemporary art centre in Ankara, the Italian Ambassador to Turkey, Giorgio Marrapodi, inaugurated 'Looking elsewhere being there', an exhibition realised in cooperation with the Austrian Embassy in the Turkish capital. The event was attended by the Turkish Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism, Gokhan Yazgi, and the Deputy Foreign Minister, Mehmet Kemal Bozay, who spoke highly of the initiative.
The exhibition, curated by Marcello Farabegoli, together with the co-curators Charlotte Aurich and Pablo Chiereghin, includes works by almost thirty Italian, Turkish and Austrian artists, new talents but also established protagonists of contemporary art, capable of tackling the theme of belonging and the challenge given by the continuous 'movement' that characterises our society from various points of view. The exhibition will be open to the public until 3 November.
