Slovakia: Amb. Flumiani met Defence Minister Kalinak

(ANSA) - PRAGA, 02 OTT - The Italian Ambassador to Slovakia, Catherine Flumiani, had a farewell meeting yesterday with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the Slovak Republic, Robert Kalinak. This was announced in a note from the embassy itself. The cordial meeting allowed for an up-to-date exchange of views on the excellent cooperation in the defence and security sector between Italy and Slovakia, of which the deployment in Slovakia between 2023 and 2024 of the Italian contingent manning the SAMP-T missile battery was one of the most significant aspects.
    Together with the minister, the main security challenges, including those coming from the Middle East, were reviewed, it says. The diplomat took the opportunity to express her deep appreciation for the fruitful relations established between the respective Armed Forces, hoping that further opportunities may arise in the defence industry sector.
