(ANSA) - VILNIUS, 03 OTT - The permanent exhibition 'Art in the Embassy: Contemporary Italy in Vilnius', organised by the Italian Embassy and the Italian Cultural Institute of Vilnius as part of the initiatives for the 20th Contemporary Art Day, was opened today at the Italian Embassy in Vilnius.
The exhibition, curated by Guicciardo Sassoli de' Bianchi Strozzi (Nuova Artemarea Association) with Daniele Crippa and Manuela Valentini, aims to promote contemporary Italian art in Lithuania with a selection of 45 works by 42 masters from the 1950s to the present day.
"Thanks to this permanent exhibition, the Embassy will become a museum of contemporary Italian art in the heart of Vilnius," said the Italian Ambassador to Vilnius, Emanuele de Maigret. "The aim is to give life to a multifunctional space that will allow us to start a virtuous cycle of collaborations with Italian and Lithuanian public and private counterparts in multiple sectors."
