Minister Bernini, 'Paves the way for a memorandum of understanding'

(ANSA) - CITTÀ DEL MESSICO, 03 OTT - In Mexico, the Italian Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, met with Rosaura Ruiz, Minister-designate for Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation, as part of her visit to attend the inauguration of the newly elected Mexican President, Claudia Sheinbaum.
    During the meeting, a declaration of intent was signed that aims to pave the way for strengthening scientific collaboration between the two nations.
    'Congratulations to Rosaura Ruiz,' Bernini wrote on X, 'it was a pleasure to meet her at the inauguration ceremony to reaffirm the common will to strengthen scientific collaboration between our countries.
    'Relations between Italy and Mexico,' the minister added, 'have deep roots, and the declaration of intent signed today lays the foundations for an even more solid future. With this step, we pave the way for the definition of a Memorandum of Understanding that will be signed in the coming months'.
    "We will jointly develop research programmes in strategic sectors such as renewable energy, agri-food, biotechnology, climate change, water management, and the blue economy. A shared path to face and overcome the challenges of the future,' Bernini concluded.
